Spokes and Nipples
With two Morizumi spoke machines, and thousands of spokes and nipples on hand, we are more than likely going to have what you need to get your wheels built with the best possible materials available.
All of our spokes are cut to custom lengths, and have the threads rolled by one of the top thread rolling machines in the industry. We can supply any length between 116mm and 310mm. In some cases we can do shorter, but it requires a little more set up.
Below is a list of the types of spokes that we carry, along with their uses, and whether they are limited on inventory or not. There will also be a form for you to enter the types and lengths of spokes you need. Some of the really short lengths of the double and triple butted will have a slightly longer lead time. Most orders will be cut and shipped within two business days. Shipping is USPS Priority, and is $10 to anywhere in the US.
Spoke orders to be shipped are 32 spoke minimum order, and while I can offer some assistance, you are responsible for accurate length calculations. There are no returns on custom spokes.
Spokes
Sapim Leader 2.0mm 14G SS Straight Gauge Spoke Silver-.50 Black-.70
Typically reserved for economical builds. Not recommended for E-Bikes, and will void most carbon rim warranties. Leader
Sapim Leader 2.3mm 13G SS Straight Gauge Spoke Silver-.65 Black-.95
Not typically carried in stock, as the Sapim Strong is a better option. Can be ordered. Comes stock on some E-Bike wheels, and has been used for tandem or cargo applications. Leader
Sapim Leader 2.6mm 12G SS Straight Gauge Spoke Silver-.80 Black-1.10
A good option for E-Bike hub motors, and rims that have been drilled for larger spoke nipples. Leader
Sapim Strong 2.3-2.0mm 13G/14G SS Single Butted Spoke Silver-1.00 Black-1.20
A great option for mid-drive motor E-Bike wheels, cargo bikes, and front wheels of E-Bikes with rear hub motors. A more compliant option than standard 13G. Strong
Sapim E-Strong 2.6-2.3mm 12G/13G SS Single Butted Spoke Silver-1.25 Black-1.50
The best option for hub motors. Allows the use of standard rims with the use of the Sapim 13G reduction nipple.
Sapim Race 2.0-1.8-2.0mm 14G/15G/14G SS Double Butted Spoke Silver-.90 Black-1.10
A good option for most standard applications. Used for most of the builds that come through the shop due to their balance of strength, durability, and weight. Race
Sapim Force 2.3-1.8-2.0mm 13G/15G/14G SS Triple Butted Spoke Silver-1.25 Black-1.50
A great option where strength and weight, with compliance are considerations. Cargo, touring, and mid drive E-bikes are good candidates for this spoke. Force
Sapim D-Light 2.0-1.65-2.0mm 14G/15.5G/14G SS Double Butted Spokes Silver-1.10 Black-1.40
A thinner mid section than the Sapim Race makes this spoke a good option for lighter builds, including race wheels, and carbon. D-Light D-Light spokes do not have the option to be cut to size and threaded, so lead time on these spokes is typically about a week.
Sapim Laser 2.0-1.5-2.0mm 14G/16G/14G SS Double Butted Spokes Silver-1.20 Black-1.50
The Sapim Laser is a lightweight spoke, and is slightly more difficult to build with, due to the twisting nature of the thin midsection. Not recommended for heavy disc brake use. More of a road racing, or cross racing type of spoke. Laser
Sapim CX-Ray 2.0-(0.9-2.2)2.0mm Bladed Spoke Silver-3.30 Black-3.60
The Sapim CX-Ray is a 2.0-1.5-2.0 spoke thats been rolled flat in the midsection to add strength. The most fatigue resistant lightweight spoke available. Great option for lightweight and carbon. CX-Ray
Nipples
Stoic Wheels only uses Sapim or DT Swiss for brass spoke nipples for their higher quality. If you prefer one or the other please specify. Sometimes limited on availability.

Spoke Ordering.
In need of some spokes for a wheel, or set that you’re building? Just fill out the form over there >, and we’ll get you set up. Please include type of spoke, spoke nipple, length and the amount that you will need. If you need help with lengths, I can offer some assistance, but ultimately you are responsible for correct spoke lengths. After thats all figured, I will send an invoice to the email provided, and once it is paid I will move forward with getting your spokes cut and out the door. On some instances(D-Light spokes or shorter butted spokes), I will need to order them, but I will let you know if that’s the case. Minimum order for spokes to be shipped is 32 spokes.
